Celebrity Makeup Artist's Secret Winter Weapons

The cold weather has rolled in, the radiators are cranked onto full whack and our beauty routines are thrown into chaos!

Winter may be fast approaching but it doesn't mean our skin and beauty routine need suffer. Winter isn't a time to neglect our skin but to nurture it as we are driven into involuntary hibernation!

This is why Lisa Eldridge, celebrity makeup artist, YouTube guru and celebrity in her own right as let the world in on her little secrets to keep us looking fab during the darker months. As featured in Elle UK (October 2013 issue)

So what are these secrets? First off, Lisa talks about the unmentionable....FACIAL HAIR! EEK!
The truth is, many of us have it but don't talk about it so Lisa's suggestions for combating facial hair it to either bleach or wax it away.

Wax is Lisa's favourite because it completely gets rid of the hair because if you are prone to thick facial hair, bleach can only make the hair more coarse. However, if you have fine dark hair, bleach is an easier way to go about it (and less painful).

Lisa's go to products? Poetic Wax £15 which has a soothing concoction of aloe and azulene.

Boots Smooth Care Wax £5.89

Jolen Gentle Bleach £4.49

Now that Lisa has taught us how to make our skin appear hair-free, how does she suggest we combat that horrid issue of dry, irritated skin as we slowly dry out from central heating and gale-force winds?

If you are suffering from dry skin or eczema, which can be a seasonal disorder or something you suffer from throughout the year, you should try out Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream £24.95 - with it's nurturing rose petal extracts, wheat germ, avocado and sesame oils, the skin is nourished and the moisture is trapped in the skin, helping restore it to it's former glory. This day cream is also great for mature and sensitive skin!

Another pesky issue during the winter months is chapped, red skin!
Lisa's suggestion is SkinCueticals- Redness Neutraliser £69 .

It may be pricey, but if Lisa says it does the job...I'm going to trust her on this. Lisa isn't a top celebrity makeup artist for nothin!
This products key 'wow' factors is it controls the skin's reactivity to environmental triggers which means it stops the skin from having a freak out when the weather changes. It also helps reduce inflammation in the skin so it is great for those who suffer from rosacea. What's more, is this miracle product is free from nasties such as parabens, fragrances, dyes, alcohol and more.

So there you go people, Lisa's tips to keep us feeling and looking brighter as the days get darker! So don't let your beauty go, keep looking and feeling beautiful!
